Regional Planning Initiatives
There are 30 other regions in California that have undertaken landscape level conservation planning. Some have chosen to develop Habitat Conservation Plans (HCPs) under the Federal Endangered Species Act, while others, like Yolo County, have combined the HCP with the Natural Communities Conservation Plan (NCCP) under California law.
Here is a list of regional planning efforts underway in areas most relevant to Yolo County: the Central Valley and the Bay-Delta region. These ten current efforts share information through the Northern California Conservation Planning Partners, an informal coordinating group.
