Agricultural Conservation Strategy Portal

The YNHP conservation plan has an agricultural conservation strategy component, which incorporates farm and range land into the habitat conservation goals for Yolo County.  Items in the Portal relate to this topic.

Agricultural Forecasting Analysis

A Presentation of the Agricultural Forecasting Analysis was given to the YNHP Steering Advisory Committee on August 10, 2009.  A second presentation on the background for the model was given at the "Seventh Annual Workshop:  Habitat Conservation Planning from Tahoe to the Bay" (Northern California Conservation Planning Partners, November 18, 2009).  The model is still being developed and will enable a long-term forecast of how agricultural land serves as habitat based on a variety of factors.  These presentations can be downloaded by clicking the links below.

Agriculture-Habitat Interface Working Group

The Agriculture-Habitat Interface Working Group is a sub-group of the YNHP Steering Advisory Committee. In their 2008-2009 meeting cycle, they prepared a set of tables on “Agricultural Activities and Practices” for all the major crops in Yolo County (including Agricultural Flood Control and Water Supply Activities) for use as background for the YNHP agricultural conservation strategy.  The reports can be downloaded by clicking the links below.
In their 2010 meeting cycle, the Working Group prepared a summary report, on habitat conservation issues related to agriculture.  The summary was presented to the YNHP Steering Advisory Committee on June 14, 2010.  This report can be downloaded by clicking the link below.
